Exploring Dallas
Dallas isn't a mysterious city, but it is a very big one. It's a forty mile drive for Kelly and Tracy to visit either Kelly's nearby family or Tracy's parents on the far northwest side of the Dallas metroplex. A drive out to Fort-Worth, while not a major undertaking, isn't a short drive. Don't let the size of Dallas keep you from exploring this fine city while you are here. There is a fair amount to do here. Tracy & Kelly will attempt to list some of the better things to see and do to keep yourselves active while you are here. So pick and choose and have a great time, all you have to do is get here.
To be honest, getting to Dallas isn't very difficult. If you are flying you have two major options, unless you own a plane, that's DFW Airport and Love Field. DFW is one of the largest and busiest airports in the world, as well as the hub for American Airlines. You can get to DFW from just about every major city in America, and do so directly. Love Field is your other option and is the smaller of the two, and the hub for SouthWest Airlines. Now due to some legal issues you can't fly direct to Dallas from states not directly connected to Texas with the exception of Kansas City, MO. Love Field is a more attractive option though, as it is an easier airport to go through, it is just down the road from where the wedding will be held. You may also find that it is a cheaper flight, but rates vary all the time. Once here, you just need a place to stay.
Kelly and Tracy are reserving a block of rooms for the event, all you will need to do is call the hotel and book your room. If you prefer to stay at another hotel closer to downtown or nearby friends or family, feel free. Rates are reasonable in Dallas, but figure about $100/night as your starting point. The Radisson has the distinct advantage of being a stone's throw from Trinity Hall, not but a 5 minute leisurely walk. Trinity Hall is also off of the DART Light Rail, which can get you to and from Downtown and numerous hotel options. Be aware that in downtown Dallas you are looking at closer to $200/night.
Once you are unpacked and comfortable in your room, you will undoubtedly feel the need to feed your food passion. Well in Dallas you can eat just about anything you like. Dallas is known for steak, but you can also find great ribs, Tex-Mex and many other of your favorite menu items.
